From iPhone backup to readable conversation export.
iTextMagic reads a local iPhone backup on your Windows PC, lets you choose the conversation and date range you need, then creates clean exports without uploading your message database to us.
The simple workflow
You do not need to connect your iPhone directly to iTextMagic. First create a local backup with Apple Devices or iTunes, then let iTextMagic do the rest.
Create a local iPhone backup
Use Apple Devices or iTunes on Windows. Encrypted backups are supported and recommended when you want the most complete backup data available.
Load your conversations
iTextMagic finds supported backups automatically, or you can browse to one manually. Enter the backup password only when the selected backup is encrypted.
Choose, filter, and export
Select a conversation, narrow it by date or other available filters, then export using the formats included with your license tier.
What happens on your PC
The message-processing path stays local. Internet access is used for licensing, compatibility rules, and update checks — not for uploading your iPhone message database.
Step 1: Create the backup
You can use either Apple Devices or iTunes. iTextMagic includes built-in guides for both methods.
Apple Devices
Connect the iPhone, trust the computer, choose the device, open the General section, and select the option to back up the iPhone to this computer.
Encrypted backups
If you enable local backup encryption, keep that password available. iTextMagic needs it to read an encrypted backup, and the password stays on your PC.
iTunes
Older or existing iTunes workflows are supported too. Create a local computer backup, then select that backup inside iTextMagic.
Step 2: Find and load your messages
The iPhone Backup tab keeps this part straightforward.
Find Backups
Scan the normal Apple backup locations on the Windows account and choose the backup you want to use.
Browse manually
If a backup is stored somewhere else, use Browse to point iTextMagic directly to the backup folder.
Check iOS Rules
iTextMagic can securely check signed compatibility rules so newer iOS backup layouts can be supported without trusting unsigned remote instructions.
Step 3: Choose exactly what to export
After messages load, the Conversations & Export tab becomes available. Use the conversation list and filters to narrow the result before export.
Select a conversation
Choose the contact or thread you want instead of exporting the entire message history.
Filter the timeline
Narrow by year, month, day, custom date range, keyword, participant, direction, and supported attachment criteria.
Export the result
Save the selected conversation in the formats available to your license. Export files are written locally to the destination you choose.
Export options by license
The workflow stays the same; the available output formats and Legal / Pro tools depend on your tier.
Standard
PDF export with a cumulative allowance of up to 500 exported messages.
PDFPersonal Unlimited
Unlimited personal exporting with PDF and HTML output options.
PDF + HTMLLegal / Pro
Unlimited exports plus CSV and legal-package tools, including attachment SHA-256 indexing and package verification.
PDF + HTML + CSV + Legal ToolsLegal / Pro integrity verification
A Legal / Pro package can include original exported attachments and an Attachment_Index.csv containing SHA-256 hashes. The built-in Verify Legal Package tool recalculates those hashes and reports verified, modified, missing, invalid, or unexpected files.
